Background

This $344 million investment in Terminal 8 will include improvements in the overall customer experience, including the addition of five widebody gates and four adjacent widebody hard stands, enhanced baggage systems, new lounges, premium check-in space and upgraded concessions and retail options. Additionally, customers arriving in New York will enjoy the ability to more conveniently connect onto other American Airlines flights and customers departing New York will gain the flexibility of 14 daily flights to London all departing from the same terminal

Project Responsibilities

  • Work with counterparts at Port Authority of New York & NewJersey and share project communication plans.
  • Work with each local television affiliate and respective national outlet for public relations outreach.
  • Work in cooperation with New York Governor, Andrew J. Cuomo's Press Office.
  • Help execute press conferences, grand breaking and media events with with all stakeholders, including local and state stakeholders.

Communication Responsibilities

  • Create and deploy a communication plan for nearly 10,000 New York-based American Airlines Employees.
  • Incorporate employee communications plan to a newly created customer experience communication plan.
  • Align messaging and strategy with key airport stakeholders including, but not limited to; the Port Authority of New York & New Jersey and several business and vendor partners.
  • Devise copy and talking points for airline airport leadership and company executives for speaking roles, tv appearances, and other relevant events.
